(William) Leacroft ("Lea") Howard Freer appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 in the household of Gertrude Louisa Davis at Bedford; Gertrude Freer and three of her children were in the same household. (William) Leacroft ("Lea") Howard Freer emigrated on 19 March 1903 from Canada. He died on 15 June 1915 at Givenchy at age 30; he was said to be a Canadian national at the time of death, a sapper in the Canadian Engineers, 1st Field Company, who died aged 30.
