     John Mitchell was born in 1809. He was the son of Dr. John Mitchell and Mary Anne Meredith. John Mitchell died on 23 March 1840. He died on 18 November 1908.

     Her married name was Evans. Sarah Mitchell married John Evans. Sarah Mitchell was born in 1813. She was the daughter of Dr. John Mitchell and Mary Anne Meredith.

     Anna Maria Mitchell was baptized on 3 September 1815 at Kington. She was the daughter of Dr. John Mitchell and Mary Anne Meredith. Anna Maria Mitchell witnessed the marriage of Peter Davis and Jane Jeffries on 30 January 1845 at Parish Church, Pembridge; by licence; the officiating minister being The Rev. William Lee, the bride's uncle by marriage, and the witnesses mostly being relations of the bride - her father's sister Mary Anne; her brother EJJ, and her mother's brothers John & Henry, brother-in-law John Morgan, and nieces Anna Maria Mitchell and Mary Ann Morgan - plus two called William and Jane, surnames illegible. The licence (dated 20 Jan. 45) says the groom was 33 and the bride 19, both of Pembridge parish, the bride's mother (a widow) consenting to the match. Anna Maria Mitchell died after 30 January 1845.      William Hodgkiss was brassfounder. He married Maria Clarke on 7 April 1807 at St. Philip's, Birmingham; "Mary" Clarke is the wife. William Hodgkissappeared in the 1841 census at 5 St Helena Pl., Clerkenwell, London. He married Meliscent (?) between 1 July 1850 and 30 September 1850 at Greenwich; V/271. William Hodgkiss appeared in the 1851 census at 2 Spring St., Clerkenwell, London.

     James Pickerill appeared in the 1851 census. He was born on 6 October 1796 at Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. He was the son of Ellen Pickerill. James Pickerill was baptized on 23 October 1804 at Newcastle-under-Lyme. He was indentured as an apprentice grocer and tallow chandler, for seven years on 4 February 1808 at Newcastle-under-Lyme. He was admitted as a burgess of the Borough on 23 February 1818 at Newcastle-under-Lyme. He married Jane Hulme, daughter of John Hulme and Jane McDonald, on 22 January 1820 at Stoke-upon-Trent, Stafford; groom's name PICKERELL. James Pickerill witnessed the christening of John Pickering on 3 December 1820 at St. Giles', Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. James Pickerill was said to be PICKERING, a chandler in the record of son John's baptism on 3 December 1820 at Newcastle-under-Lyme. Heappeared in the 1841 census at Upper Green, Newcastle-under-Lyme. He was "Pickering" - a gardener on 30 August 1846. He was a tallow chandler on 14 November 1859. He died on 10 May 1860 at Back Garden Street, Newcastle-under-Lyme, at age 63; "James PICKERILL, aged 63, gardener, of apoplexy - information received from Joseph Knight, Coroner - inquest held 11th May 1860": (NB Not in IGI) Stoke Archives report (June 2004): "I have looked through the Sentinel, a weekly newspaper at that time, for the following three issues and found no references to James Pickerill. Coroners reports of inquests unfortunately have not survived for this date."
He was buried on 13 May 1860.

     John Hedges Marshall was born in 1810. He was the son of John Marshall and Jane Hedges.

     John Marshall wrote to GH Marshall 30th June 1837 then in Paris "I am pleased to find you have been fortunate in your quarters and companions in Paris. The introductions you received from Mr Davis no doubtgreatly contributed to this." He lived in 1808 at Newbury. He married Jane Hedges in 1808. John Marshall died after 27 December 1813.

     Ellen (or Helen) Dancer was born in 1831 at Birmingham. She married James Field Stanfield, son of James Geo. Stanfield and Sarah White. Her married name was Stanfield. Ellen (or Helen) Stanfield appeared in the household of James Field Stanfield in the 1851 census at 18 Suffolk Street, Birmingham. Ellen (or Helen) Dancer lived on 9 June 1852 at 29 Gough St., Birmingham. She appeared in the 1861 census at Allens Buildings, Nelson St. S,, Birmingham. She died on 13 June 1869 at Back 99, Nelson Street South, Birmingham; Ellen Stanfield, 40, wife of James Stanfield, retail brewer, "Phthises 7 months", death informed by Mary Stanfield of same address.

     James Geo. Stanfield was born in 1786 at Buxton, Derbyshire. He was the son of James Field Stanfield and Mary Hoad. James Geo. Stanfield married Sarah White on 3 June 1819 at Doncaster. James Geo. Stanfield was a hawker: in his father's estimation, he was "unsteady", with a "romantic unsatisfactory" way of writing. On 5 February 1814 he wrote to his father from the 'William', transport 'No. 42' - i.e. official navy transport, taken up from trade, then lying at the Motherbank, Portsmouth. (The letter does not survive, only mention of it in one from his sister and JFS to CS dated 3 April.) The letter suggests he might have been involved in the supply of Wellington's army in Spain and France right at the end of the Peninsular period, then was subsequently in London before joining the Indiaman 'Indus' on a voyage to Bengal which sailed in May. (He signed on on the 11th as gunner.) The Indus returned in June 1815. A letter of 1816 from JFS subsequently suggests he was having difficulty in finding work, recognizing that was a very general problem (especially for seamen) in the immediate post-war slump. After this period he entirely vanishes as far as his brother Clarkson's biography is concerned: the latter was briefly working in Birmingham in 1824 but makes no mention of him in the one or two letters home that survive. There is also nothing from him to CS - or from any other member JFS's family - after JFS's death in 1824. circa 1825. He appeared in the 1851 census at 18 Suffolk Street, Birmingham. He died on 6 February 1853 at 29 Gough Street, Birmingham; aged 66, hawker (Dropsy - 8 weeks), registered the following day by Ellen Stanfield, present at the death (who made her mark).
