     James Cheese JP was born in 1798 at Kington, Herefordshire. He was the son of Edmund Cheese and Mary Watkins. James Cheese JP was an attorney in 1830 at Upper Cross Street, Kington, Herefordshire. He married Ann Bisse Cowper, daughter of Ann (?). James Cheese JP witnessed the baptism of Ann Cowper Cheese on 11 February 1833 at High Street, Kington; father is described as a "solicitor." James Cheese JP was living at Castle Hill House, Kington, till he inherited Ridgebourne in 1837 on the death of his brother Edmund Watkins Cheese: this he sold in 1839, moving to Huntington Court, also left to him by his brother. (Earlier, he had tried to sell Huntington Court by auction, but failed.). He appeared in the 1851 census at Huntington Court, Kington. He appeared in the 1861 census at Huntington Court, Kington. He died on 15 February 1864 at Cheltenham Cottage, Dowdeswell, Gloucestershire; late of Huntington Court, Hereford, he had been suffering from mental illness for some years.

     The Rev. John E. Cheese M.A. was the son of John Cheese and Frances Napleton. The Rev. John E. Cheese M.A. lived between 1876 and 1877 at The Vicarage, Bosbury, Herefordshire; "There are several excellent residences and extensive farms in this parish [Lyonshall]. About 100 yards from the ruins of the ancient castle, is Castle Weir, the property of the Rev. John E. Cheese, M.A., of Bosbury Vicarage, near Ledbury. The mansion was built by the grandfather of the present owner, and stands on elevated ground, commanding the extensive woodland scenery all around. It is at present occupied by Col. Robert Price, the master of the Radnorshire and West Herefordshire hounds, which are kennelled here." He died in 1879.

Samuel Cheese married Anne Cheese after 11 July 1678; searched IGI 1650-90 Salop/Herefs., but no sign of marriage. Samuel, bachelor, "of Ludlow", "Anne Cheese of Ashford Carbonell." Samuel Cheese was Churchwarden in 1712 at Ashford Bowdler, Shropshire. He left a will on 17 February 1726 at Ashford Bowdler, Shropshire; yeoman. He died on 6 September 1736 at age 85. He was buried after 6 September 1736 at Ashford Bowdler, Shropshire; The church handbook refers to the low stone on the other side of the iron railings, marking the grave of Samuel and Ann, which is almost falling in the river, according to Susan Southam! His estate was probated on 26 April 1737; granted to his wife.
