     The Rt. Hon. George Rice P.C., M.P. was baptized on 5 February 1724 at St. James', Westminster. He was the son of Edward Rice M.P. and Lucy Trevor. The Rt. Hon. George Rice P.C., M.P. was one of the subjects (along with his mother and sister) of a triple portrait now hanging at Salterbridge (and mentioned in notes made in 1783) which seems to have been painted in 1731. He was educated on 26 January 1742 at Oxford; matriculated, but didn't take a degree. He was till his death (re-elected 4 times, unopposed) MP from in 1754 at Carmarthen. He was appointed Lord Lieutenant (and reappointed on 23rd June 1761) in May 1755 at Carmarthen. He married The Rt. Hon. Lady Cecil de Cardonnel Baroness Dinevor, daughter of William Talbot 2nd Baron Talbot of Hensol (created E. Talbot and B. Dinevor) PC and Mary de Cardonnel, on 16 August 1756. The Rt. Hon. George Rice P.C., M.P. was Colonel of the Carmarthenshire Militia on 7 December 1759. He was appointed Ld. Commissioner of the Board of Trade and Foreign Plantations (at a salary of 1,000L a year), a job he held till April 1770 on 21 March 1761. He was elected Mayor of Carmarthen on 5 June 1767. He was appointed Treasurer of the King's Chamber in April 1770. He was appointed to the Privy Council on 4 May 1771. He was the bearer of "a high character", according to the autobiography of Mary Delany, edited by Lady Llanover. He died on 3 August 1779 at age 55; in Office.

     The Rt. Hon. Lady Cecil de Cardonnel Baroness Dinevor was born in July 1735. She was the daughter of William Talbot 2nd Baron Talbot of Hensol (created E. Talbot and B. Dinevor) PC and Mary de Cardonnel. The Rt. Hon. Lady Cecil de Cardonnel Baroness Dinevor married The Rt. Hon. George Rice P.C., M.P., son of Edward Rice M.P. and Lucy Trevor, on 16 August 1756. The Rt. Hon. Lady Cecil de Cardonnel Baroness Dinevor died on 14 March 1793 at age 57.
