     (Edward) Hugo Rice-Wiggin was born on 21 April 1843 at The Deanery, Gloucester. He was the son of The Rev. William Wiggin and Frances Emma Rice. (Edward) Hugo Rice-Wiggin was baptized on 17 May 1843 at the Cathedral, Gloucester; by his Grandfather, the Dean of Gloucester: godparents: The Rev. Francis Rice (uncle - later to become 5th Ld. Dinevor), B. Holme Wiggin (sic - not Mowbray!) (uncle) and Mrs. Beaumont (said by Frances Holme Scarlett to be "Aunt" Beaumont [if so, she would have been William Wiggin's sister Catherine]: FHS also said that all her furniture passed to Aunt Eva; and that she was married to Sir George Beaumont [but this is not borne out by Peter Fanshawe's research]; that both were very good-looking and lived in Richmond Park; but that he became a drunkard. He appeared in the household of The Hon. & Very Rev. Dr. Edward Rice DD in the 1851 census at The Deanery, Gloucester. (Edward) Hugo Rice-Wiggin married Henrietta Baxter on 17 April 1873. (Edward) Hugo Rice-Wiggin was HM Inspector of Schools. He was he wrote (with Alfred Percival Graves) "The Elementary School Manager" - publshed in London before 30 August 1879. He died on 30 August 1879 at The Rectory, Hampnett, Gloucestershire, at age 36; An obituary (somewhat surprisingly frank about his harshness) is glued into the front of The Rev. Wm. Wiggin's bible, together with a letter to the editor. He lived on 30 August 1879 at Thornbury Hall, Cheadle, Staffs.. He was buried on 2 September 1879 at Hampnett.

William Sweet Escott (husband of the child's aunt Lucy nee Rice); godmother the Hon. Harriett Rice (probably the child's 1st cousin once removed - but possibly the wife of his uncle Francis, later 5th Ld Dinevor). He appeared in the household of The Hon. & Very Rev. Dr. Edward Rice DD in the 1851 census at The Deanery, Gloucester. Henry William Rice Wiggin appeared in the household of The Hon. & Very Rev. Dr. Edward Rice DD in the 1861 census at Oddington. Henry William Rice Wiggin was (an unknown value) in 1899 at Meddecombra, Ceylon. He died on 4 November 1910 at Ceylon at age 65; heart failure.

He From the Dimbulla Desk Book: "When I came up here (Dimbula) and 'bought in with my brother, it was a rough life we led in all its forms - food, work, hours etc. Some of us lived in thatched wigwams 'conical buildings' - some in apologies for bungalows and O the discomfort of it all; imagine the cigarette youth of to day eating and drinking at 6.00 o'clock, meal composed of bitter beer, beefsteak (O' so tough), spring onions - and we could grow these - and rice rotis, when the bread ran out. For all this we lived a life of enjoyment and goodfellowship unknown in these days......Whisky we knew not, brandy was a medicine, and tea and coffee a treat......Hunts on the Bo-pats were one of our chief relaxations. I had at one time 15 couple of hounds in my godowns, belonging partly to myself and partly to the district pack, which was maintained by subscription." in 1909.

     Cecil Frances Sarah Rice-Wiggin was born on 18 March 1874. Said by Frances Holme Scarlett to have been very clever, but not allowed to go to Oxford. She was the daughter of (Edward) Hugo Rice-Wiggin and Henrietta Baxter. Cecil Frances Sarah Rice-Wiggin died circa 1967 at ? St. Faith's, Cheltenham.

     Eva Stena Wiggin was born on 14 April 1886 at Millbank, Minnesota, USA; Dr. S. Rose attended her confinement. She was the daughter of Augustus Holme Wiggin. Eva Stena Wiggin was baptized in March 1892 at the Christian Church, Albert Lea, Minnesota; by the Rev. M. Bywater. She died after 26 September 1893.

     George William Goodeve was born in June 1849 at Clifton, Gloucs.. He was coffee planter, Ceylon (ret'd by 1881) on 4 September 1873 at Oddington, Dimboola, Ceylon. He married Emmeline Maria Louisa Wiggin, daughter of The Rev. William Wiggin and Frances Emma Rice, on 4 September 1873 at Hampnett, Gloucestershire; married by The Rev. The Lord Dynevor. George William Goodeve appeared in the household of The Rev. William Wiggin in the 1881 census at Hampnett Rectory. George William Goodeve was proprietor or lessee (AR Wiggin: manager) in 1883 at Oddington, Ceylon. He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at Cheltenham. He died; landing his first salmon.

     Lieutenant Noel Holme Wiggin was born on 25 December 1890. He was the son of Francis Holme Wiggin and Margaret Carey. Lieutenant Noel Holme Wiggin was educated in December 1900 at Inholmes School, Cheltenham; He was awarded as a prize a book called Up the Nile by H Major, which we have in our Library. He was educated in January 1906 at Cheltenham College; he was at Sherwood House,and left the school in July 1909, going up to Caius College Cambridge. He was educated after July 1909 at Caius College, Cambridge. He was in the First World War a Lieut. attached to 36th Brigade Royal Field Artillery. He died on 11 January 1917 at Kut-el-Amara, Iraq, at age 26.
